As an old watch friend who has been playing with replica watches for five years, I have recently been “stunned” by the new 15500 sunflower color scheme of APS. APS’s 15500 series has actually been out for many years. I have seen various versions of black, grey, blue, green and white, but this time the “Sunflower” disk is really different. It is not the kind of cheap reflective glossy surface, but a radial pattern with a fine frosted texture. It will change to a subtle luster according to the angle under the sun, which is eye-catching but not exaggerated. Looking at it from a close distance, the dial has a strong sense of layering, and it does not feel like a toy watch at all – instead, it has a youthful and delicate sense of vitality.
What I bought is the white ceramic model. The entire watch is pure white. The front case and bracelet are brushed. The edges and lugs are highly polished. The contrast between light and dark is immediately full of texture. In terms of details, the beveled surfaces of the hands and hour markers are well polished, the corners are rounded, and the luminous filling is full and even. The brand lettering on the dial is embossed, and you can clearly feel the concave and convex texture when you lightly slide your fingers across it. The workmanship is indeed worthy of APS’s reputation as a “big factory.”
In terms of movement, it is still equipped with a modified version of the familiar Shanghai 7750, which is quite stable – no problem for daily wear, but if you have extremely high requirements for travel time accuracy, you may need regular fine-tuning. But the advantage is that the structure is mature and maintenance is easy. The operation logic of the crown is clear: the first gear is to adjust the calendar, the second gear is to adjust the time, the screw-in design is matched with the ceramic case, and the official rating is 100 meters of water resistance. Daily hand washing and rain are completely stress-free.
Of course, all-ceramic materials also have “sweet troubles”: they look good, but they are really afraid of falling! I was very careful the first day I wore it, for fear of getting bumped. Ceramics have high hardness and are scratch-resistant. Once dropped to the ground, the edges may chip or break, causing high maintenance costs. Therefore, it is recommended to be gentle when wearing the watch strap, and it is best to take it off before sleeping or exercising.
Currently, this sunflower color scheme is only made by APS, and there are three ceramic versions available: black, white, and blue. I personally recommend white – refreshing and high-end, especially suitable for spring and summer; blue is more eye-catching and suitable for friends who like to show off their style.
