I am purewatches. I have been playing with watches for many years and have dismantled hundreds of replicas. Today I must talk to you about the two new blockbuster GMT products just launched by VS Factory-the upgraded version of the gold “preserved egg ring” and the rose gold “root root ring” counterweight. These two watches not only completed the entire VS GMT series lineup, but also brought me a lot of surprises in terms of details, weight and movement.

Let’s talk about weight first. Many friends are worried that replica watches are “too light” and have no feeling when worn. VS obviously listened this time – in my actual measurement, the gold preserved egg ring weighs about 164 grams, and the rose gold root beer ring plate chain version weighs about 176 grams. When worn, it fits comfortably and is almost the same as the original pendant. This is not simply adding blocks of iron, but using scientific weighting to maintain the overall proportion and coordination, truly achieving a balance between “lightweight” and “realism”.

Let’s look at the details on the disk. The preserved egg ring’s black and gray gradient ceramic ring has a natural transition without any color difference; the black and coffee two-tone color of the root beer ring is full of retro flavor. The ring scale is three-dimensional and clear, the gears are clear when rotating in both directions, and the damping feels just right, even smoother than the early version of the C factory that I tested before. The most important thing is that the sides of the new small teeth ring are “not exposed” – this is a detail that many manufacturers have not been able to achieve so far, and VS has nailed it this time.

On the dial, the central axis is as deep as a “black hole”, the hands are clean and sharp, the calendar window font is centered and the printing is clear. The luminous filling is even, the nail scales are finely polished, and the luster is warm and non-dazzling. The case’s mirror polishing and brushing processes alternate, the chamfers are sharp, the seams are tight, and flaws are almost invisible to the naked eye.

As for the strap, the gold five-bead chain and the rose gold plate chain have a very high degree of color restoration and are soft and comfortable to wear. The buckle opens and closes smoothly, and the chamfering is finely polished. Codes such as “8CE” (preserved egg ring) and “6MW” (root root ring) can be used as a reference for the version, but I also remind everyone: don’t just look at the code, the details are the core of authenticity.

The movement is equipped with Dandong 3285 integrated movement. This movement was once exclusive to Factory C. After the protection period ended, VS quickly took over and optimized it. After actual testing, the 24-hour pointer linkage is smooth, the quick time zone adjustment has no lag, the measured power reserve exceeds 70 hours, the daily time difference is controlled within ±5 seconds, and the stability is quite excellent. As a match for daily commuting or occasional formal wear, it is completely sufficient and worry-free.

After playing with watches for so many years, I have always believed that a good replica should not just “look like”, but also “be stable to use”. VS’s two weighted versions of Greenwich this time have achieved exactly this – high degree of restoration, strong movement, and a real sense of wearing. If you are looking for a dual time zone watch that combines appearance, performance and cost-effectiveness, they are definitely worth adding to your collection list.
