Speaking of the IWC Engineer series, old players all know that the V7 factory did something good before. The texture of the disk surface, the proportion of the case and the case, and the stability of the movement are considered the benchmark of the Engineer series in the replica circle. My first impression when I got the watch: Why does this disk look so similar to the V7?
That’s right, MZ Factory directly continued the V7 panel technology this time, especially the white model. It was the V2 version when it was launched, which is very mature. In the early version of IWC, the line of text below had a black background, but now it has been upgraded to a white background, and the font background color will be adjusted accordingly for different colors of the disk, which is completely consistent with the original version.
The color difference between black and white is well controlled, and there is basically no obvious deviation. It is a color match that you can’t go wrong with your eyes closed. Avocado green is also very popular, but the cost of the original version is slightly higher, and the price of the replica version will rise accordingly.
There is a small detail that needs to be said objectively: the blue-green one is a little bit purple in real form, and the color difference is slightly obvious compared with the original version. However, compared to the previous “death blue” from some manufacturers, MZ’s color palette is already very restrained, and is completely sufficient for daily wear and social distancing.
The hands are polished cleanly, the edges are rounded and burr-free, and the luminous filling is even and full. This is not lazy.

The grid made by MZ Factory is very solid. It is not as rigid as flat printing, but has a slightly concave and convex three-dimensional effect. When the light turns, there will be delicate light and shadow changes, and the texture is very high-end.
I also have to praise the bezel: some small manufacturers used to make the bezel large and thick, which looked fake at first glance. However, the ring size of the MZ factory is accurately matched, the edges are finely cut, the high-gloss polishing effect is in place, and the light shines through to create a clear sense of layering.
The five fixing screws are all high-gloss polished, not the misty and cheap look, but a sharp and clear metallic luster. The brushing process on the shell body is fine and even, it feels smooth and does not cut your hands, and it has just the right balance between industrial style and sophistication.
3. Movement configuration: 2892 is enough, and the price/performance ratio is excellent
As for the movement, MZ Factory currently only provides one version: the 2892 automatic movement.
Some friends may ask: Why is there no SW300 or Ruiji version? Purewatches’ understanding is: 2892 is stable enough, more cost-effective, and fully sufficient for daily wear.
The operation is very simple:
- Turn your head upward: wind up;
- Pull one gear down to adjust the calendar;
- Pull two gears: adjust the time, adjust it forward to go forward, and adjust it reversely to go forward.
This adjustment logic is completely consistent with ETA2892 and SW300, and there is no threshold for watch friends who are familiar with IWC operations to get started. In terms of travel time stability, 2892 has been proven by the market for many years. It has a low failure rate and a low repair rate. It does not require frequent service when worn for daily commuting.
Will MZ factory release a Ruijie version in the future? maybe. But as far as the current 2892 configuration is concerned, the price/performance ratio is already good, and there is no need to spend more money just for the word “Ruiji”.
4. Watch strap and wearing: Don’t mess with the details, and the comfort is on the line
For the strap, MZ Factory has also continued the V7 process standards. The chain links are finely polished, the brushed texture is even, and the edges are rounded and chamfered. It fits the wrist perfectly when worn without any discomfort.
The buckle opens and closes smoothly, the buckle is tight, the internal engraving is clear, and the thickness and depth of the font are consistent with the original version. It is highly adaptable for daily wear, sweating in summer, and wearing thick clothes in winter.
The weight of the entire watch is well controlled. It does not feel light and cheap when worn on the hand, nor does it feel burdensome like the original version. It can be held in daily commuting, business and leisure occasions.
5. Real advantages and disadvantages, do not brag or discredit them
Advantages:
- The disk continues the V7 process, and the white background fonts are updated.
- Three-dimensional grid texture + high-gloss polished screws restore the industrial aesthetics in place
- The 2892 movement is stable and durable, and has excellent value for money.
- The ring size is precise and the edge cutting process is exquisite.
- The strap and buckle have solid details and are highly comfortable to wear.
- MZ factory has stable quality control, adheres to the V7 standard, and has low purchase risk.
Disadvantages:
- The blue-green model is slightly more purple, so the extreme party needs to lower its expectations.
- Currently, only the 2892 movement version is available, and Ruijie party needs to wait for subsequent upgrades.
- Replica watches are replicas after all, and you need to accept them psychologically
- There may be slight polishing differences in individual batches. It is recommended to confirm the quality inspection before purchasing.
6. Purchasing Suggestions: Who is suitable to buy?
If you like the industrial aesthetic style of the Engineer series, but feel that the premium of the original model is too high, then this model from the MZ factory is indeed worth considering. It is not the kind of low-end product that is fake at first glance. It will not look shy for daily wear or gatherings with friends.
In particular, the combination of three-dimensional grid plate + high-gloss screws + 2892 movement is currently considered a high-quality choice among replica engineers. Although there is still a slight gap from the original version, considering the appearance, movement and wearing experience, it does deserve the title of “V7 replacement”.
Purewatches’ suggestions are: buy the black and white model with your eyes closed, as the color difference is the most stable; buy the avocado green if you like it, but the budget is slightly higher; buy the blue-green model if you can tolerate slight color difference. Find a reliable channel to get the product. When you get it, first check the three-dimensionality of the disk grid, the polishing effect of the screws and the position of the calendar font. If there is no problem with these three points, you can basically wear it with confidence.
